LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Kings couldn’t have started their four-game home stand any better: three first-period goals, three power-play goals and a big 7-2 win over Pacific-Division rival San Jose. LA wore its snazzy, purple-clad Hometown Remix uniforms.

Artemi Panarin and Adrian Kempe combined for eight points, with Kempe notching his second career hat trick. Quinton Byfield also had two power-play goals.

The Kings’ seven goals were their most in a game this season. With the win, LA sits just three points back of the struggling Sharks. Macklin Celebrini and rookie Ivar Stenberg scored for San Jose, but their goals were far too late.

The Kings’ trend of getting outshot continued. The Sharks had 32 shots to LA’s 27, and the Kings still haven’t won a game as the team with more attempts.

Talk of Troy reporter Kasey Kazliner was present at Crypto.com Arena and broke the game down on Skate of Thrones, TOT’s Kings podcast. Listen below!
