Last night was defined by returns and surprises like Paige’s first WWE match nine years and Randy Ortan punt kicking Cody Rhodes. Tonight was defined by marquee matchups like six man ladder match and a passing of the torch between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar. The most notable championship matches were Jade Cargill vs Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship and CM Punk vs Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The show opened with John Cena welcoming the crowd to Night Two of Wrestlemania and changing the show look from the post-apocalyptic theme to a futuristic look.

Here is a recap of Night Two from Allegiant Stadium:

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman:

After weeks of anticipation, The Ruler and The Beast Incarnate finally squared off. The two powerhouses opened by testing each other’s strength as the crowd chanted Oba Femi’s name. Both were used to overpowering opponents, but neither had faced someone like the other.

Brock Lesnar’s offense barely moved the 6-foot-6, 310-pound Femi, who answered with a massive clothesline.

Lesnar took control on the outside, tossing Femi into the steel post and ring steps. Back in the ring, he brought Femi to “Suplex City” with a series of German suplexes. Femi fought out, landing running uppercuts in the corner, but was cut off by an F5, a move that usually ends matches but Femi got up immediately.

Femi then surged back, hitting a chokeslam followed by a Fall From Grace Powerbomb to defeat one of the most dominant superstars of all time.

Winner: Oba Femi

Post-match, a battered Lesnar sat in the ring. He slowly removed his gloves and boots, leaving them in the center — a clear sign of retirement. Tears filled his eyes as he embraced his longtime friend Paul Heyman while the crowd chanted, “Thank you Lesnar.”

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Dragon Lee vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Rusev vs. JD McDonagh vs. Penta (c):

The match started fast, with all competitors brawling before Penta dove off a ladder to take everyone out during his entrances. The luchadors briefly worked together until Rusev dropped them both with a ladder strike.

High-flying chaos followed as Lee and Evans soared to the outside, while Rusev dominated by swinging ladders and slamming opponents, including a back body drop onto a ladder. He nearly won, but Penta cut him off at the top.

Evans and McDonagh showcased their athleticism with dives and springboard attacks, while Mysterio hit a 619 on Lee. Rusev continued his destruction, but the field eventually teamed up to take him out, with Penta and Mysterio sending him crashing through a ladder outside.

Lee regained control with a Styles Clash on Mysterio, but McDonagh caught Lee afterwards with a Spanish Fly off the ladder. Moments later, Penta delivered a devastating Mexican Destroyer to McDonagh onto a wedged ladder. Evans nearly stole the win, but Rusev recovered and stopped him. Evans fired back with a diving OG Cutter off the ladder, only for Penta to strike again with another Mexican Destroyer.

In the end, Penta climbed the ladder and retrieved the title, retaining the championship.

Winner and Still Intercontinental Champion: Penta

United States Championship Match: Trick Williams w/ Lil Yatchy vs. Sami Zayn (c):

The fierce rivals immediately traded punches, with Zayn gaining the early advantage until Williams countered with a jumping neckbreaker. Williams went for a quick finish with the Book End, but Zayn kicked out and responded with a Blue Thunder Bomb.

While Yachty checked on Williams, Zayn attacked the rapper from behind and threw him into the barricade, showing an uncharacteristic aggression. He continued the assault, slamming Williams into the ring post and hitting a brainbuster on the apron as boos rained down from the crowd. Zayn then leveled Williams with a Helluva Kick against the barricade.

Williams barely beat the ten-count. As Zayn set up for another Helluva Kick, Yachty interfered, pulling Zayn into the ropes behind the referee’s back. Williams capitalized with a discus big boot, but Zayn still kicked out.

Williams looked to finish it with a Trick Shot, but Zayn countered with a corner exploder suplex setup reversal. Zayn, looking for a final Helluva Kick, was caught when Williams sprinted out of the corner with the Trick Shot to win the championship, as the crowd chanted, “Whoop That Trick.”

Winner and New United States Champion: Trick Williams

Street Fight Match: “The Demon” Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio:

The “King of the Luchadors,” Dominik Mysterio, made his entrance on a throne carried by luchadores wearing his masks and shirts, while waving Judgment Day and Mexican flags. For the first time since 2023, Bálor brought out his alter ego, “The Demon,” to face his former stablemate.

As the match began, Bálor crawled toward Mysterio, who looked visibly shaken. Bálor overwhelmed him early with a flurry of offense and was the first to introduce a weapon, striking Mysterio with a kendo stick. He attempted to set up a table, but Mysterio intercepted him with a dive through the ropes and followed up with multiple kendo stick shots. Mysterio then used steel chairs to slow Bálor’s momentum.

Bálor regained control with a body drop onto the chairs and continued his assault. He went for a shotgun dropkick, but Mysterio countered with a superkick, followed by a 619 and a Frog Splash, only for Bálor to kick out at one. Bálor responded with two shotgun dropkicks and nearly hit the diving footstomp, the Coup de Grace, but Mysterio rolled out of the way and struck him with a chair.

Mysterio set up a table in the corner and sent Bálor crashing through it. He then placed a chair on Bálor and connected with another 619, followed by a Frog Splash. Still, The Demon kicked out, showing his incredible resilience.

As Mysterio set up another table, Bálor came back to life, unloading with repeated chair shots. Bálor then trapped Mysterio with a chair, delivered a shotgun dropkick into the corner, then set him up on a table. He finished the match with a Coup de Grace through the table, defeating the man who betrayed him.

Winner: “The Demon” Finn Balor

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley vs Jade Cargill (c):

Rhea Ripley is no stranger to big matches, as this marked her fourth consecutive WrestleMania competing for a world title, but she had never faced anyone like Jade Cargill. Cargill lived up to her nickname, “The Storm,” dominating early with brute strength and power.

Despite the onslaught, Ripley laughed it off, daring Cargill to bring more. The Eradicator turned the momentum with a kick to the head and a single-leg dropkick. She lifted Cargill onto her shoulders and drove her face-first into the mat.

The two went back and forth until Cargill delivered a powerful spinebuster. She looked to finish the match with Jaded, but Ripley countered. As Ripley set up for a Razor’s Edge, B-Fab and Michin caused a distraction. The chaos allowed Cargill to lift Ripley for a One-Winged Angel, but even that wasn’t enough to end it.

With the numbers game becoming too much, Ripley’s best friend and tag partner IYO SKY ran in to neutralize Cargill’s allies, taking them out with a springboard moonsault from the ropes onto the floor. Ripley capitalized, sneaking behind Cargill and going for a Riptide, but Cargill escaped and landed a massive big boot.

Cargill attempted Jaded once more, but Ripley slipped under and reversed into a Riptide to secure the win and become the new WWE Women’s World Champion, celebrating with her best friend.

Winner and New Women’s World Champion: Rhea Ripley

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk:

After weeks of mind games, the two bitter rivals finally met in the main event of WrestleMania. The psychological battle continued early, with both men trying to get in each other’s head.

Roman Reigns overpowered CM Punk at first, dropping him with a big punch and continuing the assault outside, even throwing him into the crowd. Punk fought back with a springboard clothesline and mocked Reigns on the announce table, only to be thrown off moments later.

Reigns regained control with a barrage of clotheslines and looked to finish the match early with a Superman Punch, but Punk countered and responded with his signature offense, including a knee in the corner and a bulldog. Reigns eventually landed the Superman Punch, but Punk countered the Spear with knees and took the fight back outside.

Reigns stopped an attempted elbow drop through the announce table, leaving Punk hanging upside down and allowing Reigns to brutalize him with repeated strikes including a strike with steel steps before powerbombing him through the announce table.

Reigns went for the Spear, but Punk shocked him by catching him mid-run with a GTS. Reigns answered with a Spear of his own, yet Punk refused to stay down. The two traded counters, even stealing each other’s moves — the GTS and Superman Punch. Punk locked in the Anaconda Vice, only for Reigns to transition into a guillotine.

Both men pushed through exhaustion, exchanging strikes and near falls. In desperation, Punk distracted the referee to use a low blow and hit another GTS, but Reigns still kicked out. Punk then drove Reigns through the announce table with an elbow drop and followed with one more GTS in the ring, yet Reigns rebounded off the ropes falling on Punk’s shoulders. Punk tried to rise up for one more GTS but collapsed out of exhaustion. This allowed Reigns to hit another spear.

As both men struggled to stand, Reigns found one final burst, delivering a devastating Spear to finally put Punk away.

In his 11th WrestleMania main event, The Tribal Chief reclaimed the world championship, nearly two years after his historic 1,316 day reign ended.

Winner and New World Heavyweight Champion: Roman Reigns

That ends Wrestlemania 42 live with a total of 106,072 attendance across both nights. The past two Wrestlemanias took place in Las Vegas, but that trend ends next year as Wrestlemania 43 will be held in Saudi Arabia for the first Wrestlemania outside of North America.
