Here’s how USC’s neighbors voted in the Los Angeles mayoral primary

Voters in University Park were divided over Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman.

USC’s neighbors were split between Democrats Karen Bass and Nithya Raman, with just 16% backing Republican Spencer Pratt, an analysis shows.

There are four precincts that comprise University Park, from the 10 Freeway to the North, the Harbor Freeway to the East, Exposition Blvd and W 38th Street to the South and Vermont Avenue to the West.

In University Park, Bass received 33% (514 votes), Raman received 32% (494 votes) and Pratt received 16% (252 votes). Other candidates received a combined 18% (278 votes).

One of the four University Park precincts includes the entirety of the University Park campus, Greek Row, a swath of Figueroa from W Adams Blvd to 38th Street, USC Housing facilities including Troy Hall, Annenberg House and USC Gateway and apartment buildings including Hub Los Angeles Figueroa, West 27th Place, Tuscany Apartments and Icon Plaza.

In that precinct, Raman led with 90 votes (50%), Bass received 39 votes (22%) and Pratt received 28 votes (16%). Other candidates running received 22 votes (12%).

Bass and Raman advanced to a November runoff in the nonpartisan race for L.A. mayor.

Bass came in first place with 34%, Raman in second with 29% percent, and Pratt received 25.5% percent, with more than 95% of the vote in.

All precinct level vote data is from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk using the Los Angeles Times neighborhood boundaries.
