The USC Women’s Water Polo program captured its eighth NCAA National Championship Sunday in La Jolla, California. The Trojans held off the University of California, Berkeley to secure the team’s first championship since 2021. A win that avenged last year’s loss in the championship game to Stanford University.

Down a player late due to an exclusion foul, goalkeeper Anna Reed and the Trojan defense stood strong, and USC finished with a 10-9 victory to capture the team’s eighth national championship, holding California to single-digit goals for just the fourth time all season. The 2026 squad joins USC’s championship teams in 1999, 2004, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2021.

This is Casey Moon’s first national championship as head coach of the program in just his second season. It is his 6th overall championship in his 18 years at USC.

It is the 139th national title for USC overall, according to the program’s website.
