USC will rearrange several dining options in the Ronald Tutor Campus Center at the start of the fall semester, including bringing poke to the upstairs dining area, “The Upstairs,” alongside ramen, according to USC Hospitality.
The Upstairs has offered ramen since last spring. Poke will now join that restaurant space, with both options available during lunch, USC Hospitality told Annenberg Media Friday.
The poke option will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, while ramen will remain open from noon until 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, operating from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Fridays, according to USC Hospitality.
The poke and ramen selections will be meal swipe eligible, which means students on a meal plan with campus center meal swipes can use them there. Other diners can purchase food options using a credit card, Dining Dollars or discretionary funds on the Mobile Order app or at the storefront. The Upstairs is a cashless venue.
Sharetea, which is currently offered at Tutor Cafe in the Viterbi School of Engineering, will also move to The Upstairs this fall. Sharetea is a popular global bubble tea chain with over 400 stores across the world. It opened in Tutor Cafe last fall.
At The Upstairs, Sharetea will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, noon to 11 p.m. Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday.
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, another global drink chain, offers coffee, tea and various food items on campus. It currently operates out of the School of Cinematic Arts, but as of last semester has also been offered at Seeds Marketplace at the Ronald Tutor Campus Center.
The chain’s presence at USC’s campus center will split its operations between Seeds downstairs in the morning before closing midday and reopening upstairs, according to USC Hospitality. At The Upstairs, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, noon to 11 p.m. Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will accept credit cards, Dining Dollars and discretionary funds.
“The idea is to have more dining options open in the center of campus later,” USC Hospitality told Annenberg Media.
