LOS ANGELES — Kawhi Leonard was on a minutes restriction; John Collins dealt with foul trouble; Kris Dunn couldn’t buy a bucket.
Three factors that would typically mire the Clippers’ starting lineup offered an opportunity for head coach Tyronn Lue to make needed adjustments and eventually take down the Charlotte Hornets, 117-109.
Los Angeles has won 10 of its last 12 games, capitalizing on Leonard and James Harden’s recent heroics. Both veterans notched over 30 points against Charlotte, following a first half that left much to be desired for the Clippers’ offense.
Jordan Miller led the Clippers’ bench group with 14 points in 27 minutes and offered needed support to the starting five. Harden had four steals and moved into ninth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, passing Shaquille O’Neal.
With three consecutive wins and only one game back of the final play-in spot, LA will welcome the Washington Wizards to Intuit Dome on Wednesday next.
Talk of Troy reporter Kasey Kazliner was in Inglewood and analyzed the Clippers’ win on Unclipped, TOT’s Clippers podcast.
