Since 1981, January in Park City, Utah has meant that the ski town transforms into a hub for filmmakers and film-lovers from all over the globe. Started by actor Robert Redford and named after his titular role in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” Sundance Film Festival is one of the most renowned film festivals in the world, and perhaps the most well-known out of the major festivals based in the United States. Films screened and bought at Sundance often go on to become immensely critically acclaimed and commercially successful — some of last year’s selection includes “Dìdi,” “I Saw the TV Glow,” “A Real Pain,” and “Hit Man.”
This year’s festival selection includes over 85 feature films and six episodic projects. A selection of the lineup is below — the full programming and in-depth descriptions are available to read online.
