A Ferris wheel was brought onto the USC campus for students to ride during “Conquest!” 2021. The Ferris wheel was placed next to Leavey Library, the Center for International and Public Affairs and the Social Sciences Building, giving students a view of McCarthy Quad.

McCarthy Quad will be the place to be on Thursday for another edition of Conquest, USC’s yearly concert and activities fair.

As the UCLA and USC football teams prepare to meet for the 91st time, the USC Concert Committee prepares to put on another spectacle for Conquest.

The concert, which jumpstarts the events and larger rivalry week, will be headlined by two artists. Baby Jake opens up Conquest and will be sure to provide a great start to what will be an even better week.

Also headlining Conquest, will be Icona Pop.

Most famous for their song “I Love It” featuring Charlie XCX with nearly 750 million streams on Spotify, USC fans are likely to hear the hit at Conquest.

Icona Pop also is featured on the soundtrack of “Trolls World Tour.” Along with hits, “All Nights” and “Off Of My Mind,” Icona Pop will surely be a highlight of many students’ weeks.

If not interested in Baby Jake or Icona Pop, McCarthy Quad will still have many options that can cater to USC interests. Speaking of catering, there will be food trucks for the foodie in us all.

There will be carnival-like activities, including a ferris wheel with a bird’s-eye view of the Los Angeles skyline, for those who are in need of a little Fourth of July festivities, there will be fireworks to go along with the concert.

Leading up to the main event of the Icona Pop and Baby Jake concert, there are other activities by the USC concert committee. On Tuesday Nov. 14, four USC student musicians took part in Sound Clash, as a precursor to the main concert.

Feeling the need to get frustrations out on a UCLA fan? Taking place on Wednesday Nov. 15, there will be “Pie A Bruin,” where students, faculty, and on lookers alike can take turns throwing pies in the faces of UCLA fans. Pie A Bruin lasts four hours from 11-3 p.m. outside the USC bookstore.

Conquest has already begun in preparation for the 12:30 p.m. kickoff against UCLA.
