Thirty-seven students from three high schools will receive bikes donated from USC this week. USC student Yvette Ximenez worked with DPS and the USC Caruso Catholic Center to give high school students in need impounded, unused bikes. This idea came to her when her own bike was stolen.
When choosing students to receive a bike, administrators at the school and the USC Caruso Catholic Center looked for students who were doing well academically but also possessed leadership and character.
The students will receive their bikes starting Wednesday.
