Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz held a campaign fundraiser Thursday afternoon in Newport Beach. According to the invitation, the fundraiser cost at least $1,000 per person to attend.

Former Republican candidates Carly Fiorina and Jeb Bush were invited to attend the fundraiser. Fiorina was present, but Bush was unable to attend. Both have endorsed Cruz.

In addition to Thursday's luncheon, Cruz also appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Wednesday night, called in to KNX 1070 at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday and will appear on the KFI-AM radio show "John and Ken" at 5 p.m. Thursday.

According to a USC–Los Angeles Times poll, Cruz trails Republican frontrunner Donald Trump in California by seven points. Of the GOP voters surveyed, 37 percent support Trump, while 30 percent support Cruz. California holds its primary on June 7.
