The aftermath of the Paris attacks on Friday resulted in a lot of mourning and devastation. With pain, a search for a person or group of people to blame is conducted. When the attackers are hidden or far away we often try to find someone we can reach. After the terrorist attacks of September 11 in the United States, many Muslims were blamed. Just because of their religion.
The misconception that the Muslim religion was involved in this kind of terrorist behavior sparked discrimination, harassment andmany protests to try and shut down mosques.
After any attack that Islamic extremists take credit for, Muslims fear for their own safety. An attack of a magnitude as large as the Paris attacks comes with fears Muslims face because some believe this will hurt them and their families.
