Six California Highway Patrol officers, one CHP sergeant, and a nurse were charged Wednesday in the 2020 death of 38-year-old Edward Bronstein. While most uses of force by police are deemed legal and justified in California, the bizarre series of events which followed a traffic stop for suspected impaired driving led to Bronstein's death and a number of charges, including involuntary manslaughter. Video released by the CHP shows officers forcibly drawing Bronstein's blood as he continuously told them he couldn't breathe. Spencer Cline has the story
