LOS ANGELES — The LA Kings appeared to have put themselves in the right direction after scoring 31 seconds into the first period against the Boston Bruins, but LA never scored again and dropped to 0-4-2 in 2026-27 after losing 4-1.

The Kings are the only team without a win remaining and are winless through their first six games since the 1984-85 campaign. Alex Laferriere scored LA’s lone goal and centered the first line, a new position for him.

“In the first period, we were all over them, hounding pucks. [Boston] played last night and we let them outwork us in our own building the last two periods,” said Laferriere. “We can’t let that happen.”

Head coach Peter Laviolette coached his 1600th career game, but has yet to celebrate a win as the Kings’ leader. Boston scored four unanswered goals across the second and third periods, with two on the empty net.

The Bruins, on the opposite end of the winning spectrum, are winners of their last five games

The Kings embark on a five-game road trip next, beginning with a game against the Washington Capitals. Talk of Troy reporter Kasey Kazliner was present at Crypto.com Arena and broke down Kings-Bruins on Skate of Thrones, TOT’s Kings podcast. Listen below!
