Skate of Thrones | Kings drop home-opener to Panthers despite perfect penalty kill

The Kings remain winless through their first three games of the season.

LOS ANGELES — The Kings looked to give their fans something to cheer about for the first time all season, but in LA’s home opener, it lost 2-1 to the surging Florida Panthers.

Alex Laferriere tallied his first goal of the season, but Florida scored two unanswered goals from Seth Jones and Matthew Tkachuk to win the game.

Darcy Kuemper had his best game of the season, and the Kings killed off six Panthers power plays, but LA couldn’t score on five opportunities of its own. Brad Marchand left the game early for the Panthers with an apparent knee injury
