During a meeting with Irish Prime Minister, Micheál Martin, Trump suggested unifying Ireland, despite the 1998 Good Friday agreement, which ended a 30-year conflict in Northern Ireland between the Protestants and the Roman Catholics in support of leaving the U.K. Though Trump spoke highly of his relationship with Ireland, Dublin advocates have taken to the streets to protest his comments.
