Fashion has been a form of creative expression for centuries. Often, artists and designers take inspiration from the past to create new pieces with a modern flair. Luke Severns, a fashion design student at ASU FIDM, is chasing his dream of becoming a fashion designer in Los Angeles. He is currently working on his junior collection, encompassing a series of pieces inspired by women fighting in World War Two, but with his fresh perspective of incorporating modern concepts such as camo into his designs. He discusses his creative process, from the initial sketches to the nearly finished garments.
