Police units responded to a report of a stabbing just north of the USC main campus and arrested a suspect just around 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Officer Charles Miller, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, said police responded to a radio call of a stabbing on the 600 block of West 28th Street, on USC’s fraternity row, at 11:15 a.m. Miller said one person was stabbed but conscious and able to stand outside to speak with police. The officer said he had no further information on the victim and confirmed a suspect described as a 21-year-old woman was taken into custody at the scene.

Department of Public Safety Assistant Chief David Carlisle described the situation as a domestic violence incident involving a man and woman not affiliated with the university.

USC DPS officers were also present on the scene. Multiple patrol cars surrounded the area and an LAPD helicopter circled overhead. A Los Angeles Fire Department unit also responded.
