Social media influencer and entrepreneur Emma Chamberlain is expanding her coffee brand, Chamberlain Coffee, with a new brick-and-mortar cafe in Venice. The shop, set to open this spring on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, will mark the first full-scale standalone location for the brand, which has grown rapidly into its national presence.

Chamberlain first launched the company in 2019 after gaining fame through her YouTube channel. What began as a solely online coffee brand has since expanded into major retailers like Whole Foods, Target, and Sprouts.

The Venice location is the brand’s second step into physical retail after a grab-and-go style location opened at Westfield Century City in 2025. Chamberlain described the location on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as “bigger and better” Thursday night.

“We didn’t want to open just another coffee shop. We wanted to build a place that feels personal, creative, and somewhere people actually want to spend time,” Chamberlain said.

The announcement is causing excitement on social media and in the coffee lover community.

“I love Emma Chamberlain. I feel like she’s awesome,” said Allison Providenti, a sophomore health promotion student. “I would love to check it out. I probably wouldn’t go every day, but I would go by.”

Studying at “aesthetic” coffee shops is a big part of USC student culture. Local shops such as Cafe Dulce or Ministry of Coffee often have lines out the door. Though a bit farther away from campus, USC students are excited to have another cafe to add to the roster — especially one that is more upscale and built for the sit-down experience.

“I prefer the sit down, and to enjoy the actual coffee,” said freshman journalism student Laura Suarez Cardona. “Based on my experience, I’m Colombian and enjoying coffee is a big part of our culture. So you always sit down and talk to someone. I would say I prefer enjoying my coffee and the environment.”

This is an experience Chamberlain said she hopes to cultivate in her new cafe.

“Guests can settle into cozy seating, sip drinks in ceramic mugs, and enjoy seasonal pastries from local makers alongside creative coffee drinks inspired by Emma’s favorite flavors,” Chamberlain’s team announced in a news release Thursday morning.

Some students are concerned that the cafe will have high prices in comparison to generic competitors such as Starbucks. However, others aren’t swayed by this as they believe the experience is worth the price.

“I think I pay a lot for coffee regardless of where I’m going, regardless if it’s run by an influencer. But I really love Emma Chamberlain, so I would just go to check it out,” said sophomore public relations and advertising student Nanaiya Owns Different Horses. “And especially if you’re with your friends, you can bring your stuff to study with and make a day out of it.”

The cafe does not have an exact opening date yet, but is set to open its doors this spring in Abbott Valley.
