The crowd gathered in front of the L.A. City Hall on January 30, to join a nationwide protest and general strike, calling for a pause in economic activities through no work, no school and no shopping.
Protesters hold up signs and flags to show support for their neighbors and demand that federal agents from immigration enforcement leave the community.
The protest happened within a week after Border Patrol officers fatally shot Minneapolis resident Alex Pretti. Organizers urged for justice for previous victims of federal immigration enforcement agents’ brutality in Minneapolis and L.A.
