The Trojans delivered a dominant 31-13 win over the Michigan Wolverines Oct. 11. USC football improved to 5-1 overall, and 3-1 in conference play.
On offense, freshman walk-on tailback King Miller stole the show with 158 rushing yards and a touchdown. He ripped off a 49-yard run and later a 47-yard burst in the third quarter, which helped break the game open. Meanwhile, quarterback Jayden Maiava threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns — connecting with receivers including Makai Lemon just before halftime to give USC a 14-7 lead.
On defense and special teams, the Trojans stifled Michigan’s run game, limiting them to just 109 rushing yards. A 54-yard field goal from Ryon Sayeri late and a 29-yard rushing touchdown by Bryan Jackson sealed the win in the fourth quarter, and underscored USC’s balanced, physical performance.
