Third times a charm

With a few small changes, the Dodgers have strong chances to 3-peat.

The current Los Angeles Dodgers team will go down in the history books. With surreal talent and consistent success, the Dodgers have the potential to build one of the best sports dynasties of all time.

Success doesn’t just show up on its own; it is worked for through dedication and in the Dodgers case, strong managerial grit.

The Boys in Blue are looking to bring home a third straight World Series title, but there are a few things they must do in order to make this push once again.

Fix the Bullpen

After the 2025 season, it is quite clear that the biggest hole in the team is its weak bullpen. Many Dodgers arms had very inconsistent performances throughout the year, most of which cannot be relied on in big jams.

With a plethora of free agent arms available, the Dodgers need to make some deals in order to strengthen this bullpen. What they need most is guys who can eat up innings. If they are willing to spend money like usual, some potential right-handed names on the market include Ryan Helsley, Devin Williams, Pete Fairbanks, and many more. It is vital that the team pushes for at least one strong arm to add to its pen.

Adding a few key pieces to this weak bullpen is step one to improving this dynasty.

Keep Sasaki in the Bullpen

The team has just announced that they plan to add Roki Sasaki back to the starting rotation next year. While he was originally signed as a starter and fits into the rotation well, this might not be where he fits best.

Sasaki was a force to be reckoned with in the 2025 playoffs as the team’s closing pitcher and go-to arm in crucial innings. The young stud has a great deal of potential as a starter, but the team badly needs him in the bullpen. The rotation is already the best in the league, consisting of what can be considered four aces in left-handed Blake Snell, and right-handed Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, and Tyler Glasnow. Is it truly necessary to add one more arm or can Sasaki remain in the bullpen as the team’s closer with his extraordinary pitch repertoire?

Develop Top Prospects

The Dodgers are not short of young talent, as their farm system has begun developing some future stars. While most of their prospects are still developing, they have some youngsters that may be ready to come up this season.

Left-handed outfielder Josue De Paula has the chance to be MLB ready at some point in 2026, which could be huge for the Dodgers. Their weakest spot on the field is left-field and the team is looking for other options to platoon. Although, he is more likely to take over center field which would move Andy Pages to a corner spot. He is only twenty years old and has a bright future ahead.

It is important that the team also heavily focuses on the development of right-handed Korean pitching prospect Hyun-Seok Jang. Jang was originally predicted to go as the first pick in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) draft but decided to sign with the Dodgers instead. He has a promising future and with the proper development he will fit well into the starting rotation soon.

There is not much else that the Dodgers need to do in order to win again. Baseball is such an unpredictable sport and you never know what can happen, but the Dodgers will enter next season as the best in the league on paper once again.

If the Dodgers continue to work hard toward their end goal, a 3-peat might be evident.
