Excitement filled the air as fans lined the block to attend the “Nobody Wants This” block party at NYA Studios East on October 25. Based in Los Angeles, the block party commemorated the season two release of “Nobody Wants This.”
“Nobody Wants This” is a rom-com that explores the unexpected love story between sex podcaster Joanne and unconventional rabbi Noah. In an “opposites attract” love story, the series explores Noah and Joanne’s whirlwind romance as they live different lives and navigate meddling families.
In a packed event, fans received vouchers for free food and drinks sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. Fans were gifted free custom engraved necklaces, “Nobody Wants This” tote bags and Polaroid portraits with a vintage Volkswagen.
Attendee Miracle McKinney was excited to celebrate season two with fans and enjoy event festivities.
“Netflix really knows how to do it. I can already see that [“Nobody Wants This”] is a great show. A lot of good fans have come out today,” said McKinney. “They’ve had it jam-packed with activities and goodies and treats. I’m walking out with some bling…What more can you ask for?”
McKinney said the event she most enjoyed was the Polaroid photos with the vintage Volkswagen.
“The Polaroid photo booth is good… But I love that they brought this old school Volkswagen. And I always love to keep a good take-home, which is the Polaroid picture,” said McKinney.
Event attendee Mila Murasho said she enjoyed the event festivities and photo ops. For season two of “Nobody Wants This,” she is excited to see the relationship development between the main characters Joanne and Noah.
“I love the event. It’s great. There’s a lot of photo ops, lots of stuff to do, [free] food and drinks,” said Murasho. “I’m looking forward to the development of the story and the relationship between the main characters. I hope they end up together.”
Fans attended a live taping of dating reality and comedy game show UpDating co-hosted by creators Brandon Berman and Harrison Forman. UpDating is an unfiltered blind date where couples learn about each other while blindfolded. Game participants Zach and Jadyn were the hot topic of the show.
As they interlocked hands, they asked each other questions to learn about their interests and goals. Laughter rang through the venue as Berman and Forman joked about Zach and Jayden’s brewing romance.
The show heated up once Jadyn and Zach removed their blindfolds and saw each other for the first time. They were asked to close their eyes and place their thumb up if they wanted to officially date. Without hesitation, both individuals held their thumbs up for ‘yes.’
Season two of “Nobody Wants This”is now streaming on Netflix.
