Los Angeles FC picked up three points and held a clean sheet in a road win against St. Louis City SC. The match finished 3-0 in favor of the Black and Gold, thanks to a goal by winger Denis Bouanga and a brace by forward Son Heung-Min.

Bouanga gave Los Angeles their first goal in the 15th minute after a poor display of defending by the St. Louis center-backs. The Gabon international found space beyond the 18-yard box and fired a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

LAFC grabbed a second goal in first-half stoppage time after Son flew down the left side of the pitch before beating the St. Louis goalkeeper to the near post. The St. Louis center-backs refused to close down space yet again, allowing LA to double their lead before halftime. Son’s goal makes it the third consecutive match where he found his way onto the scoresheet.

Son put the match away early with a third goal in the 60th minute. The South Korean international was left alone in the penalty box, and St. Louis players refused to challenge him. He attempted a shot that snuck into the bottom left corner of the goal, leaving the St. Louis goalkeeper frozen.

LAFC dominated the whole way, leading St. Louis in every metric. After scoring three goals this match for the Black and Gold, Bouanga and Son became the first duo in MLS history to score a goal in at least 17 consecutive matches.

The win now puts LAFC at 53 points with four matches remaining in the regular season. They currently sit two points behind third-place Minnesota United, and will look to continue moving up in the standings next Sunday when they face Atlanta United at home.
