Top three Rams games to watch this season

Los Angeles has the 17th most difficult schedule in the NFL based on a combined opponent winning percentage of .491.

Week 1 of the NFL season has come and gone, and the Los Angeles Rams started the year with a gritty 14-9 victory over the Houston Texans. As the Rams start gameplanning for a Week 2 road matchup against the Tennessee Titans, it’s time to take a look at the team’s remaining schedule and what the top three season-deciding games of the season will be.

Week 3 at the Philadelphia Eagles

Revenge. That’s the one word that comes to mind anytime the Rams take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams were the only team in the playoffs that had the Eagles’ number, and though they were so close to taking down the eventual Super Bowl Champions, they couldn’t get it done.

In Week 3, LA will have an opportunity for redemption, although it won’t have the same stakes as last year’s game. The squads went head-to-head at SoFi Stadium in the regular season last year when Saquon Barkley, who ran for 255 yards and recorded a pair of 70+ yard touchdowns, torched the Rams’ defense.

This game is huge for LA, not only because it’s a rematch, but because it will act as a measuring stick as to whether the Rams are contenders again. They are also on the road and will play in one of the toughest stadiums in the league. All eyes will be on the Rams and if they can make a statement early in the season.

Week 15 vs. the Detroit Lions

Ever since the Jared Goff-Matthew Stafford trade went through in 2021, games between the Rams and the Detroit Lions have consistently been competitive. This game will be different from the previous two, not only because it will be played at SoFi for the first time, but there are huge playoff implications, too.

Both teams are expected to be strong this year, and with this game scheduled so late in the season, it could determine whether either squad will make the postseason. Between Goff’s return to LA and seeing two of the league’s most talented teams go at it, this game has the makings of being one of the best this season.

Week 7 vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars (in London)

The Rams’ Week 7 game will be their first in London since 2019, when they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals. This time, they will be taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.

The international aspects of the game — a more neutral crowd, potential jet lag, and even the time difference — make this matchup one to highlight on the Rams’ schedule. This game isn’t as important when it comes to the playoff picture, but it’s nonetheless an opportunity for the Rams to show the world who they are nearly halfway through the regular season.
