“An Uncommonly Bright Future” tells the story of Sasha Sloan, a high school student with dyslexia. Sloan struggled as a child facing teachers and school environments that did not support her. After searching for programs that would fit her needs, her family found Park Century, an alternative school for students with learning differences.
Attending Park Century, Sloan found kids who thought like she did, teachers who understood her and a newfound confidence. Through the tools and success taught at Park Century, Sloan was able to attend a public high school and be equally as successful as her peers. Her story addresses misconceptions and sheds a new light on what it means to have a learning difference.
