Valentine’s Day is around the corner and Trojans are celebrating in many different ways!

Boxes of chocolate, bouquets of roses, and little teddy bears holding hearts. It’s every couple’s favorite time of the year, Valentine’s Day! Believe it or not, the big day is tomorrow, so for those of you still waiting to pitch the big will-you-be-my-valentine question, you better get to it!

Take senior Tilly Kearn’s boyfriend, for example, who “set up a nice Valentine’s Day surprise to ask me to be his valentine,” said Kearn.

They planned ahead - but sometimes the best memories are created when you have no plans. Speaking of memories, everyone seems to remember celebrating Valentine’s Day as a kid.

Sophomore Jackson Sinatrais remembered when he celebrated with his class in middle school.

“I really enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day in middle school and the whole class would get together and make cards for each other. I always remember that being fun,” said Sinatrais.

Or you could just ditch the Valentine’s Day date altogether and take after senior Vincent Demonte, who’ll be celebrating with his besties.

“Me and my friends will be hanging out. We’re still kind of figuring out what the game plan is, but I think we’ll probably get food together, probably go back to someone’s house a chill. We might go out, and do something fun, but who knows,” said Demonte.

Demonte’s fondest memory of the holiday festivities dates back to elementary school when the day meant unlimited treats.

“...Making the Valentine’s Day boxes, and everyone walking around and popping the valentines in and eating so much candy all the time as a kid.”

Whatever happened to that? Demonte is an advocate for bringing the childhood festivities back.

“I think college is the perfect place to do it. I mean honestly, grab the boxes, everyone, grab some candy. Like come on, we need to bring it back!”

Whether you have date night plans, Galentine’s Day activities, or no plans at all, I hope you still feel all the love this weekend.
