Suemur Bezabeh lost his father at a very young age when he was killed while serving his country. Dealing with this lifelong loss, Bezabeh decided to pay tribute to his father while simultaneously developing his own passions.
In this story, Bezabeh recounts the trials and tribulations he went through while formulating his own hot sauce recipe, “The Horn Ethiopian Hot Sauce,” and building a business from the ground up.
Working in collaboration with his immediate and extended family, Bezabeh describes this emotional entrepreneurial journey as one of the only ways to stay connected with his father. In hopes of making him proud and carrying on his legacy, Bezabeh decided to incorporate his Ethiopian roots through flavor and spices.
