In 1914, arm wrestling gained popularity as a sport in the United States, with the first tournament taking place 44 years later. Though this may seem like a niche pastime, the recognition of this athletic competition is being established slowly, aided by the push of social media.

From losing an arm wrestling match in childhood, Derek Smith became allured to all that the game entailed.
