L.A. Storytellers: Sharing indigenous culture through art

L.A.-based artists relate their indigenous history through painting, print-making and photography.

Los Angeles County is the ancestral land of the Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh and Chumash people. Today, however, the history of Native Americans is often invisible to many Angelenos.

This story centers around two artists who share their indigenous heritage through painting, print-making and photography. Their artworks not only relate their ancestral history but also their experience in living as a Native American in one of America’s largest cities.
