In partnership with Ryoko Rain, Angel City Football Club announced a limited-edition apparel partnership designed to inspire and excite global fans alongside the streetwear clothing brand.

The collection, which dropped today, features five pieces, including mesh shorts, a t-shirt, a cardigan sweater and a hat. The clothing features designs with the club’s team colors and crest, as well as Ryoko Rain’s signature butterfly design and symbol.

With the collaboration, Ryoko Rain’s cultural and design narrative is fused with ACFC’s commitment to equity and community impact. Garret James, the founder and creative director of Ryoko Rain, decided to include cherry blossoms in the collection to honor his Japanese heritage and the contributions of Japanese athletes, including Angel City winger Jun Endo, who features in the promotional photoshoot.

In a joint statement, Ryoko Rain and ACFC said, “This partnership and capsule embodies the spirit of Angel City fans through Ryoko Rain’s story-driven designs with a shared value of empowering our local communities. Together, we are excited to spark another wave of pride for the Club in Los Angeles and beyond while driving important conversations about elevating women in sports.”

James founded Ryoko Rain in 2021 and he draws inspiration from his Japanese heritage and family values. With each piece of clothing, Ryoko Rain combines this cultural influence with its emblematic aesthetic and purpose to tell a story about transformation, resilience and community. The brand’s butterfly logo, which symbolizes growth, change and new beginnings, was inspired by River Ryoko and Alba Rain, James’ two eldest daughters.

In September, Ryoko Rain partnered with the all-women’s track event Athlos NYC to launch an exclusive collaboration in which a percentage of the profits went to the participating female athletes.

ACFC has already collaborated with a variety of different brands, such as Pacsun, NYX Professional Makeup and Klarna. Team captain Ali Riley and Endo are seen showcasing the collection with video and photos.
