Beyoncé shared the stage with Kelly Rowland and Kamala Harris in her hometown Houston, Texas on Oct. 25. Although expected to perform, the singer came to speak on the importance of reproductive rights, listening to women and making voices heard.

“For all the men and women in this room and watching around the country. We need you,” Beyoncé said. “It’s time to sing a new song. A song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of downfall, discord, despair no longer resonate.” She said, “Our voices sing a chorus of unity. They sing a song of dignity and opportunity.”

Throughout the rally, Harris emphasized the importance of getting to the polls and voting on election day. She also focused heavily on her plans to protect reproductive rights. “Every time reproductive freedom is on the ballot, the people of America have voted for freedom.”

Rowland addressed Texan voters, “Houston, we are grabbing back the pen!” She spoke in front of a stage that read, “Trust women.”

Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, spoke on the stage at the rally as well. “We cannot accept a country where our daughters and future generations will no longer have the basic freedom that I have lived for most of my life. We will fight for our freedom,” Knowles said.

Harris took the stage to acknowledge the power of Gen Z voters and future leaders that make their voices heard and vote. “We will because we know and understand what is at stake. We are 11 days out from an election that will decide the future of America including the freedom of every woman to make decisions about her own body and her reproductive freedom.”
