USC is coming off two major wins against LSU and Utah State, hyping students up for this seasons transition to the Big 10. The Trojans’ next challenge: tackling the U of Michigan Wolverines, at the big house. USC students have high expectations for the game.
“I’m excited to go the game day and experience what that’s like. Definitely, Michigan,” said Jonah Nir, a senior Business major who is making the trek out to Ann Arbor for this weekend’s game. “I’m excited for the game. Just got my tickets, and I think we’re gonna win. I follow football quite a bit. I think it’s just bringing a lot more energy to the whole program and kind of putting us, you know, on the same par as Ohio State, Michigan, those crazy, you know, big schools that have been in powerhouse for many years.”
Even students who can’t make it out to Michigan for the weekend are excited to tune in from home.
“Ooh, I definitely want USC to put a dent in the big house. I’m super excited for that game. I will be tuning in. I personally wanted to buy tickets to go out there, and I want Miller moss to kill it, and the rest of the team,” said Enasio Alston, a freshman majoring in Legal studies, who says his first gameday experience did not disappoint.
Two weeks ago, the Trojans destroyed the Aggies 48-0 for the home opener at the Coliseum. “The school culture and Spirit is like, it’s definitely demonstrated here,” Alston said. “You don’t get it at other schools. Like, I went to San Diego State football game, and it does not compare to a USC Coliseum game on a Friday night. It’s just different here, especially just our intros, our opening, our graphics, just that whole hype in school culture surrounding a football game here, it’s one of a kind, and you’re not getting it anywhere else.”
Even those who don’t follow football, like Ever Carlin, a freshman studio art major, are feeling the Big10 hype.
“I have big hopes,” said Carlin. “I think, well, I’ve already seen, like, the energy of the first game that was at the Coliseum, and it was like booming, and it was amazing to see. And I just, I can’t wait for the next game that’s here.”
If you’re also excited to see the trojans take on the wolverines, the game will kick off at 12:30 p.m. P.T., and can be streamed on multiple networks. Fight on!
