LOS ANGELES — The LA Kings released their new primary logo last Thursday, and it was only a matter of time before it would be woven into the team’s uniforms.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles revealed its brand-new wardrobe. In addition to the new badge, the home and away jerseys feature updated striping, outlined numbers and the Fanatics logo on the back. The team will also don new matte black helmets at home.

The Kings also removed the piping from their previous uniforms, allowing the large 90s-inspired crest to be the focal point.

Below the crest and on the sleeves sit thick stripes, which are silver and black on the white away jersey, and silver and white on the black home top. The previous home uniform only featured striping on the sleeves, while the retired away uniform had similar striping on the sleeves and front to those of the new jerseys.

Crucially, from a striping standpoint, the new uniforms establish consistency across both the black and white tops, unlike the previous look.

The white helmets remain unchanged, while the chrome silver and shiny black helmets have been discontinued. The Kings will become the first team in NHL history to wear matte black helmets full-time, which will be worn solely during home games.

The new uniforms’ numbers—coated with a shiny texture—were restored to the block look, moving away from the unique font used previously.

Los Angeles will sport black pants at home and on the road, just like before.

The Fanatics uniform template doesn’t differ much from Adidas, but the main change is the removal of the shoulder dimples, among other minor tweaks.

The Kings will not have an alternate uniform in 2024-25, but fans can likely expect a third jersey release sometime down the road.

The new home jersey will be on full display when general manager Rob Blake and company select the Kings’ No. 21 overall draft selection on Friday at Sphere in Las Vegas, assuming the player is present at the venue.
