Annenberg Media attempted to interview USC President Carol Folt as she was walking out of the encampment negotiations at Ronald Tutor Campus Center Monday.

She confirmed that LAPD would not be mobilizing tonight. When asked about the massive LAPD mobilization Saturday and why the tactical alert was ultimately called off, she did not respond.

“I’m going to tell you I don’t really have answers for that right now,” she said.

Folt also said that the meeting today was not to talk about removing the encampment, but instead to listen to the organizers and their concerns.

When asked whether there would be more transparency from the administration and if we could expect her to sit for an interview with student media, Folt said she would be willing.

“I appreciate you asking, and I actually feel that it’s really important that I’m able to talk to you,” Folt said.

Annenberg Media is expecting to receive a statement from the encampment organizers by the end of the day.
