The NFL’s annual draft is taking place in Detroit today! 257 college football players are hopeful to get drafted into the league, and about 5 or 6 Trojans are expected to become Trojans by the end of Saturday. The biggest Trojan prospect of all is quarterback Caleb Williams.
You just heard one of the many amazing plays that Williams made en route to winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022... and now he is widely expected to be the number one overall pick in today’s draft - which belongs to the Chicago Bears - and boy are they excited!
A total of sixteen USC Draft prospects showed off their skills at the Trojans’ Pro Day on March 20 at the Allyson Felix Field. This event was attended by 32 scouts, and represented every NFL team in the league.
A few other Trojan prospects are Calen Bullock, Brenden Rice, MarShawn Lloyd, Christian Roland-Wallace and Tahj Washington. Bullock and Roland-Wallace are defensive backs who were a part of a USC defense that was heavily criticized all season long for their tackling woes. Washington and Rice are wide receivers who helped the Trojan offense score 37 passing touchdowns this past season.
Rice is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, who is widely regarded as the best to ever do it at his position. Lloyd was the Trojans’ starting running back this past season and contributed to USC’s 33 rushing touchdowns.
Many expect this to be the most watched NFL draft ever, and you can be a part of the record-breaking viewership. The draft starts tonight at 5 PM Pacific Standard Time but make sure you listen to the rest of what we have to say first.
