McDonalds is working on a collaboration with Krispy Kreme to bring their products to the menu in 2026.
Fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be delivered everyday to McDonalds locations, and will be available individually or in a box of six. The flavors that will be offered are original glaze, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and chocolate ice Kream filled.
Egor Cherkashin, a Junior computer science and Business student said he’s interested in this collaboration as he thinks it will benefit Krispy Kreme noting McDonalds popularity.
Egor Cherkashin: I think it’s a it’s a good way for both the brands to kind of like just promote mutual consumption. It’s an unexpected collaboration for me, you know I would not expect McDonalds to go doughnuts.
Dallas Gardner, a freshman human biology major said he’s willing to try it out even if it isn’t the same quality as an actual Krispy Kreme doughnut.
Dallas Gardner: I did see that yesterday on Instagram. I think it’s a good idea. I haven’t been to Krispy Kreme in a long time, even though I do love their donuts. And I think that I could go there more often with the availability of McDonald’s everywhere.
Julie who was unaware of the launch said she didn’t have much of an opinion on the union of the two fast food establishments.
Julie: I guess when I go to McDonald’s. I’m not really looking for doughnuts but I guess I could see it happening a late night, Ron, you know 4am Where else are you gonna go? Maybe you want to donut? Suppose that could happen.
For Julie she thinks this might cause competition with other donut establishments.
Julie: I think people would buy doughnuts from McDonald’s, but it seems like they’re competing with Dunkin Donuts that point.
Whether you knew about it or not Krispy Kreme and McDonalds will be joining forces in just under two years to be offered nationwide. This comes after an initial successful test run of 160 McDonalds locations in the Lexington and, Louisville, Kentucky areas.
