USC has increased the cost of attendance to a total of $95,225 for the 2024-25 school year, according to the USC Financial Aid webpage.

This cost includes other student fees, meal plan, housing and supplies. The tuition cost is $69,904, compared to this year’s $66,640. However, the estimated transportation costs have been reduced by $23, while the mandatory transportation fee has been increased by $24, according to the Financial Aid Office.

The total cost of attendance for the 2023-24 academic year stood at $90,921. Since 2022, the university has increased tuition by around 5% each year.

“Once financial aid comes in I’ll see if I need to be worried. Otherwise, I feel bad for international students who do not qualify for aid,” Gwendolyn Smith, a junior studying international relations, said.

This new tuition cost for the upcoming academic year was updated on the financial aid site Tuesday but has not yet been announced formally to students.

“USC’s undergraduate financial aid pool increases at the same rate as the tuition rate increase,” reads a university statement sent to Annenberg Media. “The university expects to award more than a half-billion dollars in institutional aid to undergraduate students in the coming academic year.”

The statement also emphasized that USC President Carol Folt’s affordability initiative — which makes the university tuition-free for families making less than $80,000 per year — is entering its fifth year.

This story has been updated to include a statement from the university and the Financial Aid Office.
