From Maine and Alaska to sunny Southern California, 16 states and one U.S. territory are set to vote ahead of Super Tuesday. In the presidential race, 854 Republican delegates will be awarded out of the 2,429 total, and 1,420 Democratic delegates will be awarded out of the 3,934 total.

Over a third of the U.S. delegates for president will be decided, not allowing any one candidate outright victory per se, but through the night propelling certain candidates closer to securing the nomination.

The presidential race isn’t the only election occurring. The Official Voter Information Guide put forward by the Secretary of State has information on the propositions, candidates, a quick reference guide and voter information ahead of California’s final day of voting, today, March 5, 2024.

The primary election will influence who is running for president, county board of supervisors, California’s 52 House of Representatives seats, the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s US Senate seat, L.A. County District Attorney, city council seats and the board of education.

Annenberg Media created this voting guide to make each election and choice a bit simpler to understand.

There are a few propositions put forward by the legislature:

Statewide there is a single proposition on the ballot. Proposition 1 entails the “[Authorization of] $6.38 billion in bonds to build mental health treatment facilities for those with mental health and substance use challenges [and] provides housing for the homeless,” according to the official voter guide. The funding of this bill would reallocate $140 million of preexisting taxes to benefit mental health, drug and alcohol treatment.

It would transfer and cut funds from existing county programs for the state to “expand mental health and addiction services, build permanent supportive housing and help homeless veterans.”

Additionally, there is a citizen ballot for the city of L.A.’s Measure HLA, which when proposed in 2015 sought to implement bike lanes, the widening of sidewalks, adding bus lanes and other forms of pedestrian transportation. This proposition would mandate that effect and spur on this infrastructure focus when certain lengths of roads (1/8 mile) are repaved.

Photographers from Annenberg Media are positioned around L.A. at voting and polling centers and multiple watch parties: places where different groups watch the election coverage live.

A watch party and potluck at the CAGOP Trump Headquarters, a ballot processing center in the city of Industry, a USC Annenberg watch party jointly hosted with the USC Center for Political Future, Rep. Katie Porter’s watch party, Rep. Adam Schiff’s watch party and a local voting center are going to be the primary locations of focus.

Live photos from Annenberg Media photographers will be added throughout Super Tuesday:
