The San Francisco 49ers are squaring off against the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada for Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday. Super Bowl LVIII will mark the second time in the last four years during which the two teams met on this stage. The Chiefs got the best of the “Niners” winning that game 31-20, where the Chiefs came back from behind and outscored the 49ers 21-0 in the 4th quarter.

Students discussed their plans for the big game and who they believed was going to be crowned as champions.

Ty Majam, an engineering student at Viterbi, is excited for the game this Sunday, “I plan on going to my friend’s house, probably going to grab some wings and just all enjoy our time with each other.”

When asked about his predictions for the game, Majam said the Niners are going to pull off a victory.

Fibi Berhane, first year global health major, is interested in seeing the creativity within the commercials for this Super Bowl. The Farmer’s Dog Forever and the NFL- Run with it were voted as the best commercials by the audience last year.

“They’re always super creative and typically have a good sense of humor in them,” Berhane said. Berhane also believes the Niners will win the Super Bowl and is confident in the team’s ability to “pull through in close games.”

Yani Marcus, a double major in applied math and pharmacology, is looking forward to the Super Bowl’s prominent halftime show. Last year’s Super Bowl show was a highly anticipated one due to the fact that Rihanna was performing.

“I’m excited to see Usher perform at his halftime show, because I did hear that he’s performing for 15 minutes instead of the regular 13. So I’m excited for that.” Marcus said that the Chiefs will win Super Bowl LVIII.

Super Bowl LVIII will be televised on CBS and is available to stream on Fubo, Paramount+, Youtube, and Youtube TV.
