INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Coming off of back-to-back divisional victories, the Los Angeles Rams will look to stretch their winning streak to three games when they host the Cleveland Browns this Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
After upsetting the Seattle Seahawks at home in Week 11, the Rams rolled over the hapless Arizona Cardinals 37-14 last Sunday. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw four touchdown passes, running back Kyren Williams racked up over 200 all-purpose yards and two touchdown receptions, and Los Angeles outrushed Arizona 228 yards to 73 in a wire-to-wire win.
The Rams’ 37 points scored was the team’s highest offensive output this season. Prior to Sunday, they had eclipsed the 20-point threshold just four times on the season, with the most recent instance coming all the way back on October 15.
On the other side of the ball, the Rams’ defense also enjoyed a strong day, led by two sacks from rookie defensive lineman Kobie Turner. After surrendering 43 points in an embarrassing blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys last month, Los Angeles has now held its opponent to 20 points or fewer in three consecutive games.
On Sunday, they will look to continue that streak against a Browns team that has major uncertainty at the quarterback position. After losing starter Deshaun Watson for the season, Cleveland has rotated between journeyman PJ Walker and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson over the past two months. This week, they also signed longtime veteran Joe Flacco to give them an additional option at the position. According to reports, it will be Flacco under center for Cleveland Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.
Flacco has not played since last season, when he appeared in five games with the New York Jets. The veteran quarterback is best known for his time with the Baltimore Ravens, whom he led to a Super Bowl victory in the 2012 season.
Kickoff between the Browns and the Rams Sunday is set for 1:25 PM PST on Fox.
