The wait is finally over for the incoming residents of the Hub LA Figueroa.
After 92 days of delays, the Hub team confirmed in a Tuesday email a final move-in date of Thursday, Nov. 16. The original move-in date announced was August 14.
Since the semester began, residents were forced to live in two hotels in downtown Los Angeles: the Moxy and J.W. Marriott. Residents were then moved out of these hotels and relocated to temporary housing at The Lorenzo Apartments.
The seven-story apartment building experienced weeks of construction delays, struggled to receive permits from the city of Los Angeles and dealt with the death of a construction worker installing the building’s electricity.
While residents are finally able to move in, the building has yet to be fully finished.
The rooftop pool is still under construction and work is underway for undefined amenity space with no promised completion date announced.
The Hub team promised residents they “are ready to provide our full move-in experience with movers at Lorenzo and Hub LA Figueroa to make your move as seamless as possible.”
Residents were given their move-in times based on their apartment’s floor number. Move-in begins at 10:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m., according to the email sent to incoming residents.
If residents have a conflict during their scheduled move-in time, there is open availability on Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Residents need to provide their “name, a photo ID, and have a zero dollar account balance in order to check in” to begin this process.
Those with any outstanding rent balance were urged to pay as soon as possible. Residents will not be allowed to move in until all payments are fulfilled.
Residents will only have one day to take advantage of Campus Storage movers hired by the Hub team.
The movers will only assist Hub residents who are currently living at the Lorenzo. All occupants are required to move out of their temporary housing by Monday, Dec. 18.
