Get ready to dance away the stress of final exams. Production and companies UniVerse and LVIN are hosting a DJ event featuring USC student artists at the Globe Theatre Los Angeles on November 30 at 9 p.m.

The concert will highlight DJ performances and house music from USC students and fraternity DJs: Adam Fawal (adamoffthewall), Ali Zafar-Khan (Pak Man), Reade Hansen (Red), Dhilan Patel (dhil.p), Grant Pallokat (GKAT), Magnus Ferrell and Gabe Yaron (Let’s Link), Nathan Rippy (Rippy), Nicolas Bondolowski (Nico GB), Luka Anagnos (LKS), Max Rovner (ROV) and Mark Stone (Stone).

Although the companies are being marketed to USC students, it is not affiliated with the school.

“[This concert is] an opportunity for all the top DJs at USC to show off their skills and show off what they have to the USC community,” said Adam Fawal, a featured DJ and senior studying computer science. “We’re mostly only playing house music…so I feel like it’s kind of a way to show the USC community [and] get them in the house music and show them the culture around it.”

UniVerse, a production company, debuted on Instagram earlier this month after developing over the past three months.

“I started UniVerse with the intent to build university and multi-university experiences in the form of live events, concerts, and festivals,” said Sam Freeman, UniVerse founder.

Christian Shaw, a junior studying communications, works as a campus manager for this specific event and has helped Freeman connect with USC’s Greek life.

“I’ve been just really trying to unite the row. It can be somewhat of a segregated culture here,” Shaw said. “Houses mix only with certain houses and there’s a hierarchy system that sometimes kind of gets blown out of proportion.” So, Shaw wanted to contribute to a concert to unite the row.

UniVerse has also partnered with LVIN, a travel company that helped produce a similar concert called Row Rave. The two companies got together in 2021 with USC students as their target audience. In preparation for this festival, LVIN has helped UniVerse with connections, venues, and promotions.

“I was actually very excited,” Fawal said. “I had heard about Row Rave after I found out I got into UniVerse, and I did some research [and saw DJs like] It’s Murph, Sunday Scaries and Twin Diplomacy. They all did Row Rave, and this is supposed to be Row Rave part two, so that got me really excited because these guys are on [their] way up in the industry.”

UniVerse has also collaborated with USC’s Duffl, a delivery service company, to help promote the concert by selling merchandise on the day of the show.

“By receiving support and endorsement from local businesses like Duffl, we are able to gain larger support and attraction for the concert, “said featured DJ Grant Pallokat, a junior studying real estate development. “I’m [also] looking forward to having all different people from USC enjoying music in the same setting with one another.”

The concert venue can hold around 1500 people. Shaw says that the festival can help promote and create exposure for the DJs. “[This concert] is much bigger than any venues that [the DJs are] usually able to book,” Shaw said. “It gives them a [glimpse] of what a concert would feel like.”

“This is just an event that’s for the students by the students to bring students at USC together for a big end-of-semester school-wide event,” Freeman said. “And that’s why we’ve brought in and focused on school-based DJs that are really involved in the community.”

Tickets start at $28 and students can find more information about the concert and purchase tickets here.
