Basketball season is here and the hoopers of Troy seek redemption this basketball season. L-A College Hoops are back! USC men’s basketball plays its first home game against Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday, while the Women’s team is set to face Florida Gulf Coast University on Friday.

Both teams defeated their opponents in the Naismith Hall of Fame Series in Sin City on Monday. Analysts predicted a loss for the Women of Troy against the Ohio State Buckeyes who were ranked No.7 before the game. Our star-studded No. 1 recruits, Juju Watkins and Isaiah Collier showed their skills in the wins. Watkins shot for 32 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds while Collier scored 18 points and 6 assists.

Questions as to whether Bronny James will play for the Men of Troy are contingent on whether or not the freshman passes a medical examination later this month, said father and Lakers star Lebron James in a press conference.

Lebron James: “He’s doing rehab every week. He gets to do more and more and more and more. We have a big moment at the end of this month to see how–if we can continue to go forward, if he’s cleared then we’ll be not too long away from him being back on the floor and back with his teammates and practicing with the notion of being back on the floor and playing the game situation.”

USC students are stoked for basketball after an underwhelming football season, including Viterbi student Victoria Pinkett.

Victoria Pinkett: “I’m excited for both, especially since we have like the number one recruits for both men’s and women’s. I think it’ll be an exciting season.”

Business analytics major Muchiri Macharin is looking forward to women’s basketball, more specifically our top female recruit.

Muchiri Macharin: “Juju is nice as hell. She had 32, five and six. But she’s probably gonna average something like that honestly, I don’t see anyone stopping her.”

Sophomore Ryann Smith wants to see more this season.

Ryann Smith: “I just want to see the fight. I mean I saw it last year, but even more, I mean they bring it every year. I would love to see, you know, my Cardinal Divas out there, maybe a one, two, three time. It would be so nice to see them out there with, you know, Trojan Dance Force and the Song Girls and everybody else.”

Come out this season to support your fellow Trojans! Tickets are free with a valid U-S-C I-D.
