As of March 2023, the U.S. has 870,000 people waiting for an asylum hearing. Some wait as long as three years for their cases to be heard, often times without legal representation. “Quiero Sentirme Segura: I Just Want to be Safe” hears from asylum seekers waiting in Tijuana for their chance at a safer life, as well as the volunteers involved in America’s asylum crisis.
