The biggest names in the music industry graced the red carpet with their presence Sunday night preceding the 65th annual Grammys Award Show. Fans have been buzzing about Harry Styles’ shocking Album of the Year win and Beyoncé's history-making win that gave her the title of the most decorated artist in Grammys history.

Just as fun as watching the show itself, however, is analyzing which outfits won and lost on the red carpet before the awards were even handed out. Below are just some of the best and worst fits of the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

Best

1. Cardi B

Cardi B blessed the red carpet in her stunning royal blue dress. The custom dress was inspired by South Asian fashion and was designed by Gaurav Gupta, who produced the dress as a part of his newest collection. The designer is known for his “sculptural silhouettes” and his fashion attempts to combine futuristic techniques with his love for Indian culture.

2. Taylor Swift

Inspired by her most recent album “Midnights,” Swift arrived on the carpet in a midnight blue custom Roberto Cavalli dress. The two-piece sparkly number was paired with a large pair of silver and midnight blue diamond-shaped earrings. Of course, Swift finished the look with her classic red lip.

3. Doja Cat

Matching with her new jet-black bob, Doja Cat wore an all-black, single-strap vinyl dress. The long leather train fanned out behind her and matched with her long black leather gloves. The artist captured two completely different looks in one night with a wig and outfit change to a blonde messy bun and a brown corset outfit for her award show look.

4. H.E.R

H.E.R.’s two-piece black outfit was composed of a velvet black mini dress and a maxi sheer skirt with a velvet spiral, both a part of Bach Mai’s new 2023 collection. Her snazzy sunglasses rested above gorgeous Swarovski crystal necklaces. The entire fit – simple and classic.

5. Kelsea Ballerini

Kelsea Ballerini walked down the red carpet in a bright sunshine-yellow dress and matching heels. Her dress was defined by its side cut-outs and long flared train that followed her. Ballerini was also rocking the “clean girl” slick-back bun and Brilliant Earth Jewelry.

6. Beyoncé

Beyoncé made Grammy history on Sunday night, as she now has the most Grammy Awards of any solo artist in history. Just as impressive as her achievement was her outfit. Her two-toned nude and metallic custom Gucci dress absolutely slayed on the carpet.

Worst

1. Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo, known for her colorful, interesting looks, walked the carpet in a boring black slip dress. The outfit was an attempt to do a goth version of the “naked” dress look. The dress, designed by Miu Miu, was accompanied by a Tiffany black bean necklace. This dull look, however, was not entirely her fault as it was rumored that her actual dress ripped right before the show, and her red carpet look was a last-minute change. Regardless, this best new artist did not have a memorable Grammy look this year.

2. Lizzo

Lizzo’s red carpet looks have always been known for her large and loud outfit designs – and this one is arguably the biggest of them all. Her bright orange Dolce & Gabbana rose-covered dress likely took up the entire red carpet and not in a good way.

3. Shania Twain

Shania Twain’s black and white cow print suit was adorned in sequins. To add on to the misfortune of this design, the outfit came with a matching top hat sitting directly above her bright red wig. Sorry Shania, but the outfit reminds viewers of their 12-year-old Justice mistakes.

4. Sam Smith

Sam Smith did not come alone to the red carpet on Sunday night. Smith’s team, including their co-star on their hit single “Unholy,” Kim Petras, wore matching red outfits to compliment Smith’s fiery red dress and top hat. Unfortunately, the red madness was not what Smith intended it to be, because fans are now calling their performance and aesthetic “satanic.”

5. Harry Styles

Harry Styles’ rainbow jumpsuit reminded his fans of exactly what he would wear to his “Love On Tour” shows, deeming it not red carpet worthy. His stylist, Harry Lambert, was critiqued for not designing a classic Styles suit fans are used to for big events. Styles impressed viewers by winning the biggest award in music, Album of the Year, but left fashion lovers entirely unimpressed.
