The number one men’s basketball recruit in the nation is heading to USC.

Five-star point guard Isaiah Collier delivered the news about joining the Trojans on Wednesday morning on Instagram live with ESPN. He chose USC over a final list that included national powerhouses Cincinnati, Michigan and UCLA. This news comes just one day after Juju Watkins, the nation’s number one women’s basketball recruit, committed to USC as well.

Collier told ESPN a huge reason for deciding on USC was the family atmosphere he felt with the coaching staff and head coach Andy Enfield.

Collier makes for the most recent in a steady parade of top prospects to cycle through under Enfield. what makes Collier different, though, is that unlike recent names like Evan Mobley and Onyeka Okongwu, he plays point guard.

Rob Parker, co-host of Fox Sports’ “The Odd Couple,” and Professor of Journalism at USC, says there’s really no negative way of looking at this.

Rob Parker: Another banner day for USC to be able to get the number one college recruit to be a Trojan. I mean, Andy Enfield should be thrilled to be able to land this guy and they could change your program whenever you get the top player in the country to wear your uniform. So USC, another big day, the day before they got the number one female recruit and now the number one male recruit. An unbelievable two days for USC basketball.

Collier joins Watkins, along with two other five star athletes -- football recruits Malachi Nelson and Zachariah Branch. The future of USC athletics is trending very much upwards.
