USC warned students today to expect traffic delays and crowds around Exposition Park this Saturday, November 5 with two major sporting events scheduled to take place.

Los Angeles Football Club will play the Philadelphia Union at the Banc of California Stadium to determine the 2022 MLS Cup Champion. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Later that evening, USC football will take on the Cal Golden Bears at 7:30 p.m., creating a transportation hang-up.

An email to the USC community said that “[fans] traveling to the area, as well as faculty, staff, and students accessing campus, should expect delays and disruptions as a result of higher-than-normal vehicle and foot traffic.”

USC expects crowds to begin gathering around Exposition Park for the LAFC match at around 10 a.m. and will last until about 5:30 p.m.

LAFC has requested that fans not park in the area, instead to use the Metro Expo line or a rideshare service. Additionally, the club has reserved 5,000 complimentary parking spaces at Dodger Stadium with free shuttles to take fans to and from their cars.

Due to the shuttle’s drop-off location, Exposition Boulevard’s eastbound lanes will be closed from Vermont Avenue to Figueroa Avenue between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The LAFC match should not impede USC fans’ parking. Parking for USC football at the Exposition Park lots will open at 1 p.m, with on-campus parking opening at 1:30 p.m.
