Hot off of his historic Madison Square Garden residency and press for his recent hit films, Harry Styles is ushering in his 15-night slate of performances at the Kia Forum on October 23.
Styles has been touring and selling out concert venues like Madison Square Garden, the Moody Center and the United Center this summer. Now, he is finally bringing “Harry’s House” to the Kia Forum, much to the delight of his L.A.-based fans. Just as he did at MSG, Harry will also be performing for 15 nights in L.A.
Fans have been anxiously awaiting the pop star’s arrival in the city and are eager to see him on stage. Fans are expected to camp out the night prior to their show in hopes of getting as close to the barricade as possible. The Forum is also expecting fans to line up for early merchandise stands and box office for the sold-out opening night show.
Styles is known to be quite the showman. His iconic outfits, which usually feature feathers, sequins, mix-matched patterns, and bright colors, are custom-made by Gucci. Since the beginning of “Love on Tour 2021,” both he and his fans have treated each concert as their own fashion show. Fans have recreated his stage outfits and have DIY’d their own outfits. These outfits are created based on Styles’ fashion sense and fans’ creativity. Fans will go as far as dressing up in looks imitating the outfit he wore on the cover of his past album, “Fine Line,” or his trending outfits from Vogue shoots.
Not only are fans speculating what he is wearing for opening night, but they are predicting what his setlist is going to be, and if he will sing his well-known but unreleased song, “Medicine.” Styles is known for curating pre-show and on-stage setlists that surprise fans at each performance. The singer curates a perfect pre-show playlist that welcomes fans into the venue and is full of classics like “Olivia” by One Direction, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and “Toxic” by Britney Spears.
His past on-stage setlist for other residency shows started with his song “Daydreaming” from his current album “Harry’s House.” It is likely going to be the same for his L.A. residency shows, but, the real question is, will Styles sing “Grapejuice”? “Grapejuice” is also from his current album, but he has yet to sing it on tour. A viral TikTok video gives some insight on why he doesn’t perform the song: a fan at a concert had a sign asking why he doesn’t perform the song and Styles replied with, “It is hard to sing”, while pointing to his throat. Fans have gone as far as dressing up as grapes for his shows, since they are itching for the singer to perform the popular song.
At every show before Styles hits the stage, venue staff roll a storage box labeled “soft goods” past fans who all know the not-so-secret fact that Styles himself is inside the box. This practice has grown to be a tradition for fans to wait at a barricade, and see the box as it’s rolled under the stage.
Fans are shelling out hundreds of dollars for tickets, but from the ticket proceeds, Styles and Live Nation will be donating $1 million to Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund. This fund is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country. The campaign is a part of Styles’ ongoing commitment to activism.
Although his stay in L.A. marks the end of his U.S. tour, Styles will begin his international tour just days after his final night at the Forum.
