The 2022 NFL Draft is underway, and several Trojans hope to hear their names called over the next three days. This page will update throughout the draft with any Trojan selections and other USC-related news.

Day 1

Atlanta Falcons, Pick 8: Drake London, WR

Drake London was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. London was the first USC wide receiver to be drafted in the first round since Nelson Agholor was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015. London had an absolutely dominant junior season, totaling 88 catches and 1,084 yards with seven touchdowns. Despite only playing in eight games due to an ankle injury, London was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation’s best wide receiver.

London heard his name called at the heart of the Las Vegas strip in front of friends and family.

London will be catching passes from Marcus Mariota while helping the Falcons franchise move on from the Matt Ryan era.

Day 2

San Francisco 49ers, Pick 61: Drake Jackson, OLB

Drake Jackson was selected by the San Francisco 49ers late in the second round. Jackson was the fourth outsider linebacker to come off the board. He will reunite with former Trojan safety Talanoa Hufanga, who was taken by the 49ers in last year’s draft.

Jackson will play alongside defensive end Nick Bosa to add to San Francisco’s pass rush. Jackson frequently dropped into coverage as a linebacker at USC, but the 49ers are likely to use Jackson to fill the edge rusher position instead. This is because San Francisco already has some of the best linebackers in the league in Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw. Jackson may be able to have an immediate impact on a defense that has been among the NFL’s best in recent years.

The Trojans are not expected to have any other Day 2 selections.

Day 3

Arizona Cardinals, Pick 201: Keaontay Ingram, RB

Keaontay Ingram was the third and final Trojan selected in the 2022 NFL Draft and the second offensive player following Drake London’s first-round selection. Ingram had a solid 2021 season at USC after transferring from Texas, leading the Trojans with 911 yards and five touchdowns. He will join James Conner and Eno Benjamin in the backfield of a talented Cardinals offense.

After the draft, cornerbacks Isaac Taylor-Stuart and Chris Steele, safety Isaiah Pola-Mao, linebacker Kana’i Mauga and tight end Erik Krommenhoek were each picked up as undrafted free agents.
