Harris tests positive for COVID-19, despite receiving second booster shot

Vice President Kamala Harris tests positive for COVID-19 via rapid and PCR tests. Harris, who received her second booster shot, is not experiencing any symptoms and will isolate and work from home.

Harvard University commits $100 million to redress its ties to slavery. The fund follows a report that found Harvard faculty, staff and leaders enslaved more than 70 Black and Native American people since its founding from 1636 to 1783. The fund is part of the University’s larger plan to improve educational opportunities for descendants of enslaved Black and Native American people.

All six of Los Angeles Animal Service’s shelters are at capacity. To encourage adoption, shelters are reducing adoption fees from April 30 through May 8.
